Dancing For The Stars, by Elaine Fair

Sunny I really like this online comic alot. This was one of the first online comics I became a fan of, and I still like it, even though at the present time it updates very slowly.

It's the story of a young wizard girl who attends a school of magic. Although she initially struggles both academically and socially, her inner talents are brought out during a "test", she amazes everyone.

Why do I like this manga? First of all, the character designs are very nice. Particularly the main character, Grainne; I like that name, Grainne. However, I find all the character designs to be very appealing. The character artwork is also very nice, slightly Clamp-ish. You can tell that Elaine likes to draw her characters because all her attention seems to go towards drawing them and not the backgrounds. Her backgrounds tend to be simplistic, but that's okay... it works for her comic, and besides her character artwork is beautiful; very charming and eye-pleasing.

Another good thing about this manga is the story. The narrative is nice and easy to follow, and held my interest up to the end. A nice thing about this comic is that it focuses on character interaction, which is pretty good, and has a romantic quality to it. However, there are scenes of action as well (mainly the test.)

Overall, I would say the comic is fairly girly. That may not appeal to you tough guys out there... But if you like romantic stuff, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this comic. Definetly check it out!

Notes from 2026: This webcomic was taken offline, and I remember that it actually happened way back in the mid 2000s. Nowadays if you try to do a search for this comic, you won't find a single thing. There are several other webcomics with similar names, but any evidence that this comic existed seems to have totally vanished. Which means that the images on this little shrine are probably the only remaining remnants.

Kind of a shame, I still think this comic looks quite attractive.
